Support Division
The Support Division is under the direction of Lieutenant Kathy Thompson and provides the Operations Bureau with the services and resources needed to do their jobs effectively.
The Support Division consists of the Crime Analysis Unit, Payroll/Budget Unit, Records Unit, Internal Services, and the Cadet Program. In addition, the Support Division is responsible for station maintenance, grant and budget administration, contracts and requests for proposals and purchasing.
The Support Division is actively involved in several important
projects in the area of technology enhancement. These technology
enhancements are comprised of the implementation of a complete
Computer Aided Dispatch and Records Management System, Mobile
Data Computers, Field Reporting Systems, and Crime Analysis
Mapping Systems (GIS).
The Crime Analysis Unit is responsible
for crime analysis and administrative research. This unit
produces statistical studies and the Department's annual report.
The unit provides crime information and statistics to other
sections of the Department and assists police officers by
identifying, assembling and disseminating information concerning
crime patterns and trends. The unit also responds to requests
for data, and is responsible for the daily operation of the
computer network.

The Records Unit has, under
the mandated federal and state laws, the responsibility of
maintaining and disbursing all police department record information.
In compliance with these laws, all personnel in the Records
Section are trained and state certified in the use of the
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS). The Records Unit
consists of one civilian Records Supervisor assisted by one
Senior Records Assistant, ten Records Assistants, and three
Police Cadets.
